چکیده

The valorisation of lignin is being increasingly recognised to improve the economics pulp and paper making mills. In present study, an integrated lignin–glycerol strategy introduced with overarching aim for enhancing process value chains. LignoBoost kraft was subjected base-catalysed depolymerisation using glycerol as a co-solvent. generated bio-oil used renewable additive biodiesel its oxygen stability. influence three independent parameters including temperature, time amount on investigated. Response surface methodology applied design experiments optimise maximising yield antioxidant impact bio-oil. results showed that has positive qualitative quantitative produced bio-oil, where enhancement in (up 23.8%) activity 99 min induction period) were achieved PetroOxy method (EN16091). addition 1 wt% led improvement oxidation stability over neat sample up ?340%, it compliant European standard (EN14214). proposed presents biorefinery paradigm utilisation waste cooking oil, glycerol.

Bio-Oil Hydrotreatment for Enhancing Solubility in Biodiesel and the Oxydation Stability of Resulting Blends

The major challenge for the pyrolytic conversion of lignocellulosic materials into crude bio-oil is the poor quality of the final product. Several strategies (addition of solvents, production of emulsions, and extraction with biodiesel) have been studied to improve its fuel properties. The extraction with biodiesel is an interesting solution because it allows direct utilization of some bio-oil ...

Bio-renewable fibers extracted from lignin/polylactide (PLA) blend

Due to the high cost and environment issues in the production of carbon fiber from polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and pitch, the use of low cost bio-renewable materials are of great interest as an alternative precursor. Lignin is a highly aromatic biopolymer, extracted as a byproduct of wood pulping and has been investigated as a suitable precursor for carbon fibers. In the present work, we have demon...

Biodiesel Oil Derived from Biomass Solid Waste

Oils of a significant value both as fuels as well as for cosmetic applications can be extracted from the fruits of the jojoba plant. After extracting the oil, the remains of the fruit can still be further utilized as a solid fuel in furnaces or feedstock to animals. In the present work, the solid waste jojoba remains have been processed chemically to extract more biodiesel oil. The physical and...

Renewable biomass-derived lignin in transportation infrastructure strengthening applications

Lignin is considered as nature's most abundant aromatic polymer co-generated during papermaking and biomass fractionation. There are different types of lignins depending on the source (hardwood, softwood, annual crops, etc.) and recovery process. Recently, an emerging class of lignin products, namely sulphur-free lignins, from biomass conversion processes, solvent pulping and soda pulping, have...
